The whole
rulebook
This is deliberately not Indeed, LinkedIn Jobs, or a recruitment platform. There is no endless application process, no priority credits, no recruiter packages, and no invented “Top Applicant” score. There are candidates, companies, jobs, categories, money and competition.
- 01
Everything starts at $1
Every candidate profile and every company profile opens at one dollar. There is no other starting price.
- 02
Listing is free — you pay to climb
Getting on a board costs nothing, permanently. A profile sits at $1 and stays there for as long as you like. Money only enters when you want to move up.
- 03
You beat a bid, you don't match it
To take a position you must pay strictly more than the person holding it. Whole dollars only, and the smallest bid we can charge is $5 — below that the card processor takes most of it.
- 04
Highest bid holds the top
Each category is sorted by money, descending. When two profiles sit on the same number, whoever got there first stays ahead.
- 05
Positions change instantly
The moment a bid lands, the new bidder takes the position and the previous holder drops one place. The board updates live for everyone.
- 06
A bid buys the spot for as long as it lasts
There is no rental period and no expiry. You hold the position until somebody pays more — that might be four minutes or four months. Every profile shows how long its current holder has been sitting there.
- 07
Defending your spot keeps the clock running
Raising your own bid while you already hold a position does not reset the timer. The clock only restarts when a position actually changes hands.
- 08
#1 companies show 5 jobs
Holding #1 in a category puts your logo and up to 5 live openings at the top of the board, with the strongest matching candidates listed under each one.
- 09
Candidates are matched, then ranked by bid
Matching is on function, skills, job title, experience and location or remote preference. Among everyone who matches, the ranking is whatever they're bidding.
The economics
Being on the board is free. Create a profile, sit at $1, and it costs you nothing — for as long as you like. You only pay to move up.
The bidding is the business model. When you take a spot you pay the amount you bid, and GetHired keeps all of it — there is no seller on the other side of the trade, because the position is ours to sell. No subscriptions, no priority credits, no application fees, no per-post charges.
The smallest bid we can charge is $5 — below that the card processor takes most of it, which is a bad deal for everyone. Above the floor it goes up a dollar at a time.
If somebody takes the spot while your payment is still going through, you are refunded in full. You never pay for a position you did not get.
